Feisty and biting, political slogans abound here-- ranging from 'Oust Chávez' to 'Better living is Socialist living'. But often just as equally opinionated are the artistic murals that grace the walls of the city. Bolívar, Chávez and Che dominate. Below, a small sample.

Surprise, surprise, President Hugo Chávez' face, either saluting solemnly or smiling at a particular marvel of Socialism, graces many a facade.

When dabbling with Socialism and revolution in Latin America it's hard to swerve around the figure of Che Guevara-- better known here as 'El Che'. Above, his famous quote: 'A true revolutionary is guided by feelings of love.'
'We are culture; we make revolution.'
Close up of the previous shot: The country's diversity is often showcased through these murals, with a heavy emphasis on Indigenous culture, which is often likened to Socialism.
