A Migration Observatory

In this podcast I speak to Martin Ruhs, the Senior Labour Market Economist at Oxford University's Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) and the Senior Researcher and Director of the Migration Observatory.

Dr. Ruhs considers existing admissions policy and different interests within government. If entrance is contingent on possessing skills, how do we define skills? We discuss the state of interest-driven think tanks or research engines, and whether claiming to be independent validates work.

(Please note at 13:40, Dr. Ruhs mistakenly uses the phrase "race to the bottom". He has corrected this error, having meant to say: "race to the top".)
