It's been nearly a month since the Eisenhower Research Project released the Costs of War! The response from the public has been great--thousands of readers have shown us how much they care about what we've lost in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, from human lives to dollars to civil liberties.
If you've visited the Costs of War at http://costsofwar.org, thank you! But that's not all you can do to ensure that this research reaches even more people. Email the page to your friends and family members. Talk about it with your coworkers. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper the next time you see an under-estimate of these wars' costs in print; we're counting on your help, and appreciate whatever you can give us.

- The wars have created 7.8 million refugees among Iraqis, Afghans, and Pakistanis
- Unless the debt is somehow paid off, almost $1.2 trillion in interest on war spending will accrue by 2020
- By a very conservative estimate, the wars are responsible for at least 147,000 civilian injuries
- In both Iraq and Afghanistan, women have been marginalized in the planning of their own future
- Business have handed over millions of Americans' personal data to the FBI under the Patriot Act
